The report has been published by the Joint Economic Data Hub (JEDHub), a collaborative initiative to improve understanding of the defence sector’s contribution to the UK economy and an important deliverable of the 2021 Defence and Security Industrial Strategy (DSIS).
Key stats in the report include:

10,000 - Organisations paid directly by the MOD globally in 2020/21

5,000 – Estimated apprentices employed in the UK defence sector

$4.6 billion - Average of annual UK defence exports between 2016-2020
Armed Forces Network
The Armed Forces Network (AFN) started in Sussex in 2011 and is a multi-organisational group which includes members from the NHS, MoD, Armed Forces Reservists, Mental and Physical Health Clinicians, the Royal British Legion, SSAFA and other interested charities and organisations from across Sussex (i.e. police and local authorities). In July 2016, this model was rolled out to Kent and Medway and is commissioned by the Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) across both Sussex and Kent & Medway.
The National Protective Security Authority
The National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) is the UK government's National Technical Authority for physical and personnel protective security.
The National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) has absorbed the responsibilities of the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, but with a broader remit, reflecting the fact that the threats the UK faces today extend far beyond critical national infrastructure. NPSA is a part of the Security Service, MI5.
